Annual kickoff of YOGO ("Let It Go") initiative to address violence prevention
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – Local author, educator, and community trailblazer Mr. Alex-Zan is planning the annual kickoff for his proactive violence prevention initiative, YOGO ("Let It Go"), in Charlottesville and the surrounding areas. Originally introduced in 2018 and recognized by the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles and the Virginia Department of Transportation, YOGO aims to reduce the culture of violence, whether by guns, road rage, domestic disputes, or workplace conflict, through a message of mindful de-escalation.
A press and community briefing will take place on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in front of Charlottesville City Hall and Ting Pavilion. During the event, the public will be presented with the full toolkit of YOGO materials designed to spread awareness and empower communities to "let it go" and choose peace.
