One person is in the hospital and another is in custody after authorities say a man attacked an employee at the Locust Grove Walmart last week.

Fitzroy Anthony Brown, a 35-year-old Locust Grove resident, has been charged with malicious wounding, a felony.
An Orange County sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a reported assault at the Locust Grove Walmart last Friday.
“Upon arrival, he was informed that a male subject had assaulted a Walmart employee while the employee was putting groceries into the suspect’s vehicle,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement issued Sunday. “The assault resulted in the victim being hospitalized.”
Brown was identified as the assailant, the sheriff’s office said, and arrested the following day.
He is being held without bond at Central Virginia Regional Jail in Orange pending his first appearance in Orange County General District Court.
