Community partners to host annual Healthy Streets, Healthy People Fair

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA — UVA Health, the Charlottesville Police Department, Parks & Recreation, and additional community partners will host the 5th Annual Healthy Streets, Healthy People Fair on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 11 AM to 3 PM at Booker T. Washington Park (Lower Field). The fair brings the community together for a day of fun focused on health, safety, wellness, and connection.
The event will feature games and children’s activities, music by DJ Runway, local leader talks, cooking and gardening demonstrations, raffles and giveaways, and more than 50 activity booths. Enter the free bicycle giveaway for a chance to win and enjoy food donated by Mission BBQ.
Attendees can also access free health screenings, mental health resources, youth programming, and community outreach services, while learning about street safety, violence prevention, sustainable transportation, and access to parks and green spaces. Community partners, including the Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad, will also offer demonstrations and free health and safety trainings, including CPR, Narcan education, gun safety, and gun lock distribution, to equip participants and families with practical, life-saving knowledge.
