In his first trip to Derby Downs in Akron, Ohio, Mason Breeden became Culpeper's fourth world champion since 2008. The eighth-grader at Culpeper Middle School out paced the field in the Stock Division Saturday to become Culpeper's first local champion to win the world championships. Culpeper's previous three world champions qualified via rally points.

Two other local racers also finished top five. Local Super Stock champion Brandon Kearns finished as the Super Stock runner-up, and 2011 world champion Gabby Beville took fifth in the Rally Masters Division. Stick with the Star-Exponent to learn more about Breeden's run to the world championship.
