Summoned to a special session by Gov. Ralph Northam, the General Assembly reassembled in Richmond on Aug. 30, ostensibly to redraw 11 legislative districts that a federal court ruled were unconstitutionally gerrymandered. But nothing much is likely to happen in the near future as the Republican majority, awaiting a decision by the U.S. Supreme Court on whether it will hear its appeal, runs down the clock.
