While the recent and terrifying disappearance of Nelson County teenager Alexis Murphy has generated tremendous local and statewide attention, it's also created renewed public interest in the case of missing Orange County resident Samantha Clarke.

Though many in our community may have forgotten about her disappearance nearly three years ago, local law enforcement has not.

Orange Police continue actively investigating her sudden disappearance and, in a statement issued by Orange County Commonwealth's Attorney Diana Wheeler Tuesday, "welcome the renewed public attention to her disappearance."

While it's too soon to speculate whether or not the suspect arrested in relation to Murphy's disappearance is connected with Clarke's case, Wheeler notes he "is someone Samantha spoke with immediately prior to her disappearance and remains someone we are very interested in learning more about."

As people across Virginia learn about the suspect and actively seek for Murphy, we welcome them to our ongoing search for Clarke and continue our prayers for the safe return of these two girls.
