Jeffrey Reed Burgess, 52, of Charlottesville, Va., died on Friday, April 15, 2016, at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro, N.H.Born May 2, 1963, in Charlottesville, he was the son of Betty Sacco and the late S. Reed Burgess. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, S. R. "Jake" Burgess and Edna Burgess; his maternal grandparents, A. Louis and Betty Bennett; and his uncle, Allen G. Bennett. After graduating high school in 1981 Jeff enlisted in the Air Force, serving his country for four years. Jeff served as crew chief on a KC135 fuel tanker during that time, and formed a band with a few close friends in the service performing for his fellow airmen. Jeff's time in the Air force took him to Oklahoma and England before returning to Charlottesville at the end of his service. Back in Charlottesville Jeff met and married Michele Logemann in 1995. In 1997 they moved to New Hampshire where he enrolled in culinary school. After battling with the effects of a brain tumor for many years, Jeff succumbed to complications from pneumonia. He is survived by his mother, Betty Sacco and step-father, John Sacco, of Sarasota, Fla.; his brother, Stephen Burgess, wife, Melissa and their children, Jacob, Jenna and Erika of Wolfeboro, N.H.; his step-brothers, John Sacco II, Jamie Sacco, Joseph Sacco and their families; his aunt and uncle, Darlene and Ashley Williams of Chester, Va.; cousins, John Williams of Chester, Va., Matthew Williams, his wife, Chrystal and their children, of Richmond, Va., Mark Bennett, his wife, Amanda and their children, of Stanardsville, Va., Tracy Bennett and her family, of Charlottesville, Va., and Suzanne Dowell and her husband, Philip, of Scottsville, Va..A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2016, at Riverview Cemetery with the Rev. Stephen J. Mathis officiating.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America, 7 Millbrook Rd, P.O.
