The Madison County School Board held its annual reorganizational meeting last month.

Barry Penn Hollar was once again selected as chairman. He was nominated for the position by board member Bob Chappell with a second by board member Karen Allen. The vote was unanimous.

Allen was unanimously chosen as the vice chairman with a nomination by board member Nita Collier and a second by board member Arthur Greene, Jr.

Collier will serve as the board’s representative to the Piedmont Regional Education Program (PREP) with Allen as the alternate. Chappell will serve as the representative to the Blue Ridge Virtual Governor’s School (BRVGS) Board with Penn Hollar as the alternate. Penn Hollar and Greene, Jr. will serve on the capital improvement plan committee with Allen as an alternate. Allen will serve as the board’s representative to the board of supervisors with Penn Hollar as the alternate. Penn Hollar will also be the board’s voting delegate for the annual Virginia School Board Association (VSBA) Conference. Allen will be the alternate.
