Public Notice Environmental Permit Application PURPOSE OF NOTICE: To announce a virtual public meeting regarding a request to reissue a current biosolids land application permit in Albemarle County, Virginia. PUBLIC MEETING: A virtual public informational meeting will be held at 6:00 pm. on June 22, 2021, using GoToWebinar. PURPOSE OF PUBLIC MEETING: This meeting will provide the Department of Environmental Quality the opportunity to exchange information with the interested public on technical issues concerning the proposed reissuance of the permit for land application, such as site-specific information, the standard content of permits that regulate land application, and how the public can provide comment on the requested land application sites. PERMIT NAME: Virginia Pollution Abatement (VPA) Permit issued by DEQ, under the authority of the State Water Control Board. NAME, ADDRESS AND PERMIT NUMBER OF APPLICANT/PERMITTEE: Recyc Systems Inc. PO Box 562, Remington, VA 22734; and VPA Permit No. VPA01574. NAME AND LOCATION OF PROPOSED ACTIVITY: Recyc Systems Inc. has submitted an application to authorize the land application of biosolids to 6066.7 acres of agricultural land (of which 1826 acres is new land application area) at a controlled rate that is protective of water quality and human health.
