Notice of Public Hearing Town of Scottsville, Virginia Notice is hereby given that the Town Council of the Town of Scottsville will hold several public hearings at their regular meeting on Monday, June 21st, at 7:00 p.m. at the town office, 401 Valley Street. The first public hearing concerns a special use permit at 137 East Main Street, owned by TWS Properties LLC. The permit is for upper-level apartments. The second public hearing concerns several amendments to the zoning ordinance. The Town Council requested consideration of these changes by passing a resolution at their meeting on May 17th. The amendments deal with Chapter 1 (Intent), Chapter 3 (Definitions), and Chapter 9 (Village Residential). The third public hearing concerns amendments to the zoning map. The parcels in question are: A 19 acre lot on Bird Street, tax map number 130-43D, owned by Upper Bird Street LLC, be rezoned to Village Residential. A 14 acre wetland portion of a lot of Bird Street, tax map number 130-43, owned by Lower Bird Street LLC, be rezoned to Public. A one acre lot on Confederate Street, tax map number 130 A2-03F, owned by the Town, be rezoned to Public. A small lot on Confederate Street, tax map number 130 A2-03K, owned by the Town, be rezoned to Public. A one acre lot on Irish Road, tax map number 130-25J, owned by Scottsville Volunteer Fire Department, but rezoned to Public. Bruce Park, tax map number 130 A2-80, owned by the Town, be rezoned to Public. The fourth public hearing concerns the Town's purchase of a conservation easement using grant funds from the Virginia Outdoors Foundation. The contract price is $80,000, and the subject property is the same 14 acre tract noted above, tax map 130-43, owned by Lower Bird Street LLC. The easement provides for public use and habitat conservation in perpetuity. Any person wishing to address the Town Council is welcome to attend the public hearing. Under the Town's Continuity of Government Ordinance, the meeting will have options to participate online or by phone. Upon request, the Town will make reasonable accommodation for persons with disabilities.
