Details for NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TAKE NOTICE

Updated

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TAKE NOTICE that the Planning Commission for the City of Waynesboro will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, September 22, at 7:00 P.M. to receive public comment on the following proposed text amendment: Amend City Code chapter 98 (Zoning Ordinance) to add a new zone, tentatively designated the "I-R (Industrial Revitalization) zone." This zone will allow a range of residential uses, activity-generating commercial uses, and low-impact industrial uses. Parking requirements will be reduced in this district. The district is intended to provide flexibility for redevelopment of areas with legacy industrial and commercial buildings mixed with or in close proximity to housing, as well as abundant shared parking and a historic subdivision pattern. It is not intended for use in new subdivisions. This meeting will be held virtually via Zoom. Members of the public may make comment by watching the meeting on the government access cable channel or the City's YouTube page, and calling the number on the screen. This phone number will also be posted on the Planning Department's website prior to the meeting. Copies of the proposed ordinances, a copy of the existing zoning ordinance, and other documents are available for review by request to the City Planning Department, Suite 204, Charles T. Yancey Municipal Building, 503 West Main Street, Waynesboro, Virginia, by email at judaylj@ci.waynesboro.va.us or by calling 540-241-2375. ___________________________ Luke J.
